I’m a little in love with little boy euro shorts. I bought these for Gabriel last year and he still wears them, but I totally get that they’re not for everyone.

Here are a few options for boys.

1. Polarn O. Pyret. I really love this store. They have such cute stuff.

2. Zara. I’m tempted to buy these euro shorts for Gabriel this year.

3. Mini Rodini. This store also has this amazing pair that I think kill my husband if I made his son wear.

4. Odile. Just kinda cute and boyish.

5. JCrew. You can always count on JCrew for simple stylish stuff!

Is it weird that I’m not really into bikinis for little girls? I’m sure there are cute ones out there, but I guess I just like kids to look like kids for as long as possible before they are teenagers and adults and there’s no turning back.

1. Elle. Crazy expensive for a kid’s bathing suit, but it’s cute, right?

2. Gap. With monarch butterflies? Love!!

3. Polarn O. Pyret. Classic red stripes.

4. Zara. Subdued gray polka dots. This is probably what I’d put my little girl in.

5. Crewcuts. I love the rope belt detail!

I’m trying to put aside my hatred jealousy for you mommies that can still wear a two piece. I probably can, but I don’t really feel confident enough for it. Oh babies, it’s a good thing they’re cute! These are some that I thought were pretty cute and mommy friendly.

1. Old Navy.

2. Nanette Lepore.

3. Marc by Marc Jacobs.

4. Miramar.

5. Topshop.

More bathing suit roundups here and here….and one of my first posts last year, swimwear for boys.

Do you recognize my little cutie? My sister works for American Apparel and as a result, we get hooked up with a little modeling gig for Gabriel once in a while. It’s really fun! We get adorable pictures of Gabriel as well as a paycheck for his growing bank account!

He’s been doing it since he was a little baby! It’s great to have professional pictures of him in different stages of his little life! The reason I mention all of this is because people always ask me how they can get their kids to model for American Apparel too, and I never know what to say, but now I do!

If you’re interested in having your kids model for American Apparel, send pictures to kidmodels@americanapparel.net.

And on another note, they will be doing their Flea Market starting Friday, June 8th. You can get up to 90% off and the baby/kid stuff is such a good deal! I’ll be there and so will Gabriel!

To keep in touch with American Apparel Kids, “like” them on facebook page here. They often have flash sales that are announced solely on their facebook page! In the meantime, if you poke around on their website, find Gabriel (You might even find me or my sister on there too).

I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day yesterday! We spent the weekend in San Francisco attending Aidan’s brother’s wedding which was so incredibly beautiful and touching. We got to spend a lot of time with family, which makes me incredibly happy!

Taking a short break on the tuesday etsy spotlights for a few weeks. I got a request for a roundup of bathing suits for the summer! The first bathing suit roundup I’m doing is one pieces! Gabriel left me with a few impressive battle scars after I had him, so I’m pretty certain that my bikini days are over. Luckily there are more than a few one piece bathing suits that are super stylish and flattering!

1. Princesse Tam Tam.

2. Madewell.

3. Huit.

4. Marc Jacobs.

5. French Connection.

6. JCrew.

a trip to LACMA

Remember this post, when Gabriel was an infant, and we took him to LACMA to see the Tim Burton show for his very first museum visit? No? Yeah, you probably don’t remember because it was my very first post and the site wasn’t public yet!

LACMA is really close to our house, walking distance, in fact. We sometimes spend afternoons sitting on the grass, reading books and just hanging out. It is one of my favorite things about Los Angeles–truth. Cool off topic fact about LACMA, when they were expanding it and digging around to build the underground parking lot, they discovered tons and tons of artifacts, including a sabertoothed cat, her 6 kittens and a mammoth (reason being that LACMA is right next door to the La Brea Tar Pits). How amazing is that? Read more about it in this article.

Anyway, we decided to take Gabriel to see Chris Burden’s Metropolis II. I’m actually hesitant to post any pictures of it because photos don’t do it justice. It. is. really. really. really. cool. If you don’t know about it, it is a kinetic sculpture that is representative of a modern city metropolis, with busy freeways and hundreds of little cars moving super fast, public transportation and massive buildings. Here’s a little video, which like I said, doesn’t do it justice.

Gabriel was REALLY into it. He stood and stared at the little cars racing around and just kept pointing at it. He loved it and so did we. I recommend arriving just a few minutes before the scheduled time, to see the sculpture without any cars, then watching the magic unfold once they turn it on. It’s so neat. More information on the schedule and the work here.

Are you digging Gabriel’s cool kicks? I love them! Little converse with soft soles, perfect for a little toddler and designed by a dad to stay on little feet! Pick some up for your little guys and gals at our new favorite store, Sammy and Claire, click here.) We also got Gabriel’s sweatshirt in this post from Sammy and Claire

Another piece that we/Gabriel really loved was the Alight Anew in Indian Yellow by contemporary Latin American artist Jesus Rafael Soto (someone I studied intensely in college as an Art History major–nerd fact).

If you’ve got a little one, under the age of 17, you can get them a NexGen membership for FREE that will get one adult in free with each kid among other benefits! Neat right?

We had to take a few family pictures yesterday, for a little project we’re doing. I wanted to share them with you, because I love them so, but also because I wanted to show off Gabriel’s awesome sweatshirt.

Gabriel’s sweatshirt was a gift from a brand new store, just launched yesterday in fact! Sammy and Claire carries high-end luxury brands that are also socially responsible and eco friendly…and their buyers have an amazing eye–all their kids’s clothes are mega stylish! Love!! Find Gabriel’s adorable Stella McCartney sweatshirt here.

To celebrate their launch, Sammy and Claire are hosting a contest and giving away $100 to one lucky fan in the month of May! Visit their Facebook page here and make sure you “like” them to enter the contest! The winner will be chosen at random on May 15.

I’m really excited about warmer weather. My legs have barely seen the light of day, despite the unusually warm winter we’ve had. In any case, it’s sandal season! I’m really loving my Saltwater Sandals, but I have a wandering eye lately (with regards to shoes). These are some of my favorites.

1. Diane von Furstenberg. I love the nude with the neon detail.

2. Gap. I once had a pair of sandals from the Gap that I bought for $5 and I wore them for 8 years, until they fell apart while traveling. I always got compliments on them and I regretted not buying at least 2 pairs that day.

3. JCrew. These are adorable for a balmy summer night out at an outdoor concert maybe? I rarely ever have nights out regardless of the season, but still.

4. Marc Jacobs. I’m supposed to be on a hiatus from anything Marc Jacobs, but these are adorb. The perfect shade of green!

5. Isabel Marant. This is one of those timeless pieces that you keep for a REALLY long time. Then your daughter will see a photo of you when you were young wearing these and she’ll curse the day you got rid of them. I speak from experience.

6. Elizabeth and James. These are so stylish, but simple enough not to be scared to wear them.

7. Madewell. What’s a collage from me without something from madewell? I’m really into this color. The dark pink, coral, red combo is doing it for me these days.

And speaking of sandals, does anyone have any good nail polish colors that they’re into right now? I’m really in a slump. Half way to the weekend!!

an Easter outfit

Easter is this Sunday. Growing up, Easter was one of my favorite holidays. We spent Easter at my aunt’s beach house with all my cousins. We’d go to church on the beach (Catholic upbringing) and then we’d get in our swimsuits and hunt for eggs around the house. It was always pretty casual on the beach, obviously, but I always wanted to find any reason to get dressed up.

1. Fancy Yellow Dress.

2. Little Boy’s Bowtie.

3. Blue and Red Check.

4. Flower Clips.

5. Dark Pink Peter Pan Dress.

6. Like a Mini Chanel.

7. Classic Grey Cashmere Cardigan.

8. Trousers with Suspenders.

I love girl’s clothes, who doesn’t. But the real unsung hero, are little boys’s clothes. They’re like grown men’s clothes, but miniature! I really shouldn’t be looking at new kid’s clothes, given that I’ve received a MASSIVE box of hand me downs from Michelle/Lucas and I’m looking forward to receiving some new clothes for Gabriel tomorrow. Weeee!

Have a lovely week all.

Super duper special kisses and hugs to my favorite almost two year old boy, Lucas, or as I like to call him Yucas. Auntie Ondria yuvs you Yukey.
